I presume the fact that only certain publishers are allowed to do it means its in testing and may be available to everybody?

Google is allowing this job site to send mailers since its a authority site and commands respect.

Also, the premier publisher thing apply in their case, i personally know many other sites which are doing this. This is nothing new.

Take it like this, if Microsoft starts sending bulk emails for software upgrades to their customers, then one cannot label it spam.

In this case this particular job site is sending jobs to people who have at the time of registration agreed to get job mailers from the site.

Thus, there is no problem what so ever for google to let them display adsense ads.

Hmm.. just wondering, if I buy 20M page views per month via PPC, will it make me a premium publisher? :D

Btw, 20M impressions doesn't need to be 20M uniques.

looks like a great fan of the particular site.. There is no problem getting job mailers... and there is no problem getting software upgrade mails.. but i would prefer the job mailer to be a job mailer only...

most mailers these days are sent with the reciever's consent..permission marketing anyone? But that doesn't mean i should get Adsense in my mailer... I also moderate a sucessfull mailier group, and everyone joined it with consent.. Why can't i add adsense codes there then....

Anyway, in the thread, I was just poiting out the fact that google has started allowing ads in mailers.. and nothing else.. i wasn't accusing the mailer of anything...

The run-of-the-mill Adsense is all Java based. Since virtually every email client on Earth will not display Java in an email (which is good polict BTW), sending Adsense through email is pointless.

I suspect that these 'premium publishers' are given access to some kind of HTML based Adsense code. I would LOVE to see the source of am email that arrives with Adsense in it. ;)

This doesn't sound like google, maybe it is an other ad company that uses emails as income,I can't understand how.
