Maybe this is not the best place for this post, but I have been wondering how often do websites spider or visit your sites ?
My server logs don't show any visits from google in the last 30 days. And really no other engines either.

Yet, pages I hand submit to say msn and yahoo are indexed very fast in them engines. And I even use the new google sitemap for google.

Do spiders still spider sites ?

yes, of course they still spider sites. you need to build incoming links in order to get them coming to your site more often. hand submitting to search engines is as futile an activity as there is nowadays. no need to do that. build links.

Google sitemaps should help some too. not sure why it isn't sending the bots your way. how new is your site?

Try signing up for Adwords to let Google know your site is serious.

For a free $25 dollar credit sign up for Google Local, they'll send you a promotion code in the regular snail mail when they verify your address.

All you have to do is pay the $5 sign up fee, but then you get $25 free advertising :)

    Hope this helps!

Edit: BTW, my site usually sees about 8 visits a day from Googlebot, however that could be due to the newness of the site, which is only two months old.

Get some inbound links, like from your signature here and other directories and show Google that your site is important.

Is there a problem with the domain name you are using? Was it banned in a previous life. Search this forum for instructions on how to remove the ban.

Some of my new sites don't recieve a hit from the Googlebot for a month or two... others get hit by it 10-30 times a day. It depends on what you're doing with your site, among other things. If you have a well visited site that you're making updates to all the time -- chances are Google will visit you more and more often. If your site is sitting around doing nothing, no updates, no new inbound links... you might not see Mr. Googlebot for a while.
