This is another campaign by the original Conspiracy Theorist, Daniel Brandt. The recent articles about his latest campaign seem to be suggesting that his motivation is to "return the internet to a free internet" or something along those lines.

If you'd like to learn a bit about why Brandt started all this anti-Google stuff, have a look here: http://www.google-watch-watch.org/

To clarify, that isn't his motive at all. Read the referenced article in my previous post: He's just angry at Google because he thinks his sites should be PR10 and Google doesn't agree.

The original one which got him in a snit was namebase.org ...

After that came, as SEbasic said, http://www.google-watch.org, http://www.scroogle.org, and http://www.yahoo-watch.org. You gotta give him marks for consistency -- Crazy Daniel hates everybody.

Aaron Wall has created a parody of these sites at http://www.msn-watch.org (I had forgotten this was a parody in the previous version of this post).

    Erratum/Addendum:

Just verifying the links, I discovered that http://www.yahoo-watch.org now redirects to http://www.google-watch.org. I guess I was wrong. Crazy Daniel has decided that Yahoo and MSN are okay and has reverted to trying to destroy Google and take over the world again

Yeah Minstrel, can I hire you to post links for me also :p :p :p

Or better yet, maybe I can piss you off and you will post links to my sites like you have for DB, I am sure he will laugh when he gets these referrals with your avatar attached. :D

Crazy Daniel and I have exchanged words before, AC, as you know. He knows my opinion of him, i.e., that he's a monumental and self-serving joke. I don't think he's affected one way or another by that knowledge.

Not at all. if he thinks being held up to public ridicule is good publicity, I'm happy to oblige. For one thing, it exposes him as he is: self-serving, and far from the humanitarian he is trying to impersonate.

The man is not a dummy Minstrel, he must know something that enabled him to create a Google proxy in addition to other tools and intelligence

PS: The thread starter, whoever he is, mentioned that Google source code was made public, this is not true, it was DB's Google proxy's source code that was made public, not Google's

I didn't say he was stupid. I said he is self-serving and malicious. He may also be paranoid.

You're not malicious or self-serving, AC. Maybe a bit argumentative and misguided but not malicious or self-serving. :D

Did you see the title of the thread, Google source code released?

This is false as it is DB's proxy source code that was made public.

So the entire thread is misleading Minstrel.

Faulty logic there, AC. Did you learn that from Crazy Daniel? :D

The title may be misleading -- it doesn't invalidate other comments and information within the thread.
