Google sometimes show only 5 results instead of 10?

Occasionally when doing a Google search instead of 10 results on page one I get only 5 results.

Anyone else seeing this?

 

I never saw this. Do you have an example ?

 

Is this with the new instant search function? It happens alot to me

 

Yeah, Google instant is a bit irritating. You can turn it off if you're logged in with a Google/gmail account

 

worse with new map listing too , seo is getting really tough and even more unpredictable than before

 

It could be on google instant ... but i have never seen this

 

Next time it happens I'll take a screenshot. Yes probably something to do with Google instant

I can't confirm if it is indeed Google instant or not, have you changed any settings perhaps?

 

may be this problem arise because of Google Instant or your internet connection so turn off google instant and then search again

 

this problem occurs when google has the local search results

 

maybe you got some problem with your interenrt connection...or you search for very very low competition keyword....
