Google normally celebrates American as well as other national holidays but for the 8th year in a row Google has failed to honor America's veterans. I realize Google is packed with Bush-hating Liberals, but to fail to recognize what much braver men than myself have given for this country is a shame.
First of all.... I think these recent elections have proven that you do not have to be liberal to dislike bush and his policies. On to the real topic of your thread. I agree 100% that google should have a graphic or something at least acknowledging veteran's day. I mean.... it doesn't take much. Maybe just a little graphic of troops raising the flag.
personally I couldn't give 2 shits about your veterans day, celeberating people killing each other is NOT A HOLIDAY.
Rez... what do you consider a holiday? Veterans Day is a day to remember and honor those who have given their lives to protect their country, not just a day off work and another excuse to get drunk, like most other 'holidays'
Veterans day is a day to remember the soldiers who killed peoples family, brothers sisters, mothers and fathers for the action of once government, it represents what seperates humans from each other, nothing more then people killing each other, and the people who win are suddenly the "heros" its like a game of counterstrike.. pathetic.
What do you suggest a communist country flag? I think the obvious is US seeing Google is a US company.
And personally we don't give 2 shits about what some punk ass has to say about our holidays. Now run along and go feed that mush bucket you call a brain, little boy. But back on topic. No surprise Google disses Veterans Day. I would think everyone knows Google's MO by now. They're San Francisco Liberals who preaches hippie-hood and hybrid cars, but they chase the Almighty Dollar with the tenacity of 2-dollar crack whores.
Yep liberals but want to be enjoy the benifits of pure unadulterated capitalism ... is there not a conflict there!!!
HEY IN FINLAND WE HAVE VETERAN DAY TOO!!! I WANT GOOGLE TO BE ALL WHITE AND BLUE WITH FINLAND FLAG ON VETERANS DAY!!! MAYBE ALL COUNTRIES HAVE VETERANS DAY? On a serious note, google would never do it! It's because it does not fit the picture and if i would see something like that i would think "Hmm... do i care about US veteran day? I know theres been brave man there, but they are not any more braver than any other countries" So if you want to remember US veteran day, than do it! But safe the rest of us from it. Sir. Uuno Turhapuro (Maybe they should have turhapuro day!)
I don't think it's a celebration--more of a memorial... If only a couple of guys from Finland had founded Google your dream could have come true and your joke would be somewhat applicable to this conversation.
btw.. this thread is the reason why there is no such thing in google. Think about it, it's internet company as people know it. Not US company, well ofc it's in US, but who cares about it. I don't use Google cause it's in uber land of us. Sir. Uuno Turhapuro
No, you use it because it is the best search engine out there. And as much as you may hate to admit it, the thing was built in the "uber land of us."
I like US would love to live in Las Vegas, been my dream since i was a kid. I just hate the way people in US think, that they are the only people in the world. Also atleast people in Finland are more edjucated, there is 0% of our population under poverty level and we have one of the best health care in the world, plus 100% of our adult population can write. You find none of that in US. Also our health care is free.... See CIA fact file and be amazed! And if we think about brave man, we did kick the shitout of russian in the winter war. 1 Finnish soldier killed on avarage 10 russians, don't mess with us or we come and conquer your lands, lol!
While people in the US call it "veterans day", most other countries call it "remembrance day" or "armistice day". Why should it matter what country the company is in or what nationality the founders were? Unless you are being particularly ignorant, the day signifies all the people who gave their lives to make a better world.
You don't make a better world by taking lives. People take lives and murder cause they are greedy! That is nothing to be celebrated at all, unless you are .....
.... not true. anyway, i think that your attitude is very common for europeans that have not been exposed to americans personally. i'm american and lived in scandanavia for a little over a year (dk) and made many great friends there, but i was always surprised by how ignorant people could be with regard to americans. the assumptions are often ridiculous, and 99% of them are based on what was written in a small number of newspapers--not actual experiences.
