I find this algorythm sad, how's that called smart pricing? LOL.

Unless, I am missing the piece of the puzzle here, but is smart pricing means smart rip off?

I'm saying that because if I was on google's place, this is how I would be thinking:

Owkay, mohsinkalid is making more money with clicks, lets get the price per click lower so that he gets less money and we get more money and lets call it smart pricing so that the avarage joe falls for it.

    Correct me if im wrong.:(

Maybe it just takes time to adjust and balace? I dont know.

Does anyone know, this smart pricing depends to site or page.

If I add new page on my high value site, will it be small price or big.

Ah yes. 'Smart Pricing'. What you should have done when signing up for Adsense was to check the 'Intellectually Challenged Pricing' box. Then you get CPC that constantly rises out of all proportion to the success of your site.

First off, you may not be smart priced. AdSense is anything but stable. You may have had some big advertisers back out and those keywords may not be as valuable as they once were.

But, if you are there is really nothing quick that you can do about it.

From what I've read, Advertiser conversion rates from your site have to come up.

Let me explain. Your site displays ads. People click on those ads. Now for the fun part that people don't understand. On the advertisers site they either have conversion tracking setup or they don't.

If they don't, you are golden. If they do, you are going to be burnt if those clicks don't reach the advertisers conversion page. Meaning if that user didn't turn into a buyer or new registration or go through whatever the Advertiser wanted, it counts against you.

My bet is the Ads that show up on your site are advertisers that have setup conversion tracking. And, over the period of time you have been banking on $1 clicks without sending converting leads to the Advertiser. That is what causes smart pricing.

    So, how to overcome:

    1) Record the urls of each advertiser that is currently on your site.
    2) Visit, don't click your own link just type the url. Look to see if that site is selling a product that would have some sort of final checkout or registration. Mark that site down if you find anything.
    3) Block those ads in your AdSense control panel.
    4) Wait.

Eventually, your site will fall back down below the threshold and the smart pricing will be taken away.

OR, you can go to YPN or another contextual ad program.

Smart pricing is on the entire account, not page, not channel, not site. The entire account.

Smart pricing currently effects an entire account.

This is why you will see different earnings if you placed your friends AdSense code on your page while he runs AdSense on his sites.

Are you operating in same niche?
    What about traffic's origin?
How much data do you have to analyze things correctly?

How long must we wait until the smart pricing goes back to normal before adding another site to the account so that it doesnt get affected by the bad smart pricing rate?

Smart pricing is a weekly or bi-weekly thing. If you "fix" it, it should revert back to normal within two weeks, maybe sooner.

Smart pricing is based on the amount of clicks to conversions. If you're not getting clicks, smartpricing won't matter to you. But if you're getting clicks, it can have an impact.

But isn't this a little strange. This mean that if I add more content (pages) there will be lower paid clicks. :(

I don't know what is a lot for you, but last days I am getting few hundreds clicks / day.

I am asking this all with reason, because my CPC is very weird, from .01 up to max. yesterday almost $0.5 (rarely)...

My page is entertainment page, videos, games, images, ... (but I am trying with content (short description) make this non entertainment page).

    Any idea?

    Thx you! :)

Have you seen a major drop in your earnings, but with the same or higher number of clicks? That's how you can tell if smart pricing has kicked in.
