Google *SLOW* to reindex updated site

Hi!

I recently went from Joomla to Wordpress and Google is *SLOW* to update inner site structure. I did 301 redirects from old urls to new ones (for most of content) and Google after 3 weeks still present old urls as results to the queries. Why is that?

 

Sorry to say that this can take months... You can speed up the process by getting yourself links to the new inner pages.

 

yup, it will take some time to reindex your site... there is also another way to speed up indexing by Submitting your pages to social networking site.. but the best way is described in above reply

using 301 redirect may take time to 6 months and it's depents on your backlinks

 

You can also use forum signatures to speed up this.

 

I always make changes to my website, and google indexes it very fast, normally less than 1 week. The only exception is the first time I did the same as you, it took google more than 1 month to index the updated pages.
