Google slow to index / cache

I put up a mini site on a mature site of mine a few weeks ago and pointed some fairly decent internal links at it plus one external pr5 link and have also managed to pick up a few links from some other sites. All looking good but google has only indexed 1 page of this new mini site.

Has anyone else experienced google being as slow as this? I know there is a lot going on with the bigdaddy update (if you can call it an update). Am I worrying unnecessarily or is this a problem?

Are you using fancy urls? I know that the google crawler tends to ignore or have trouble differentiating between site urls with "?" in them.

    Hi,

The timing of your site launch is probably unfortunate, for Google anyway, because they are in the middle of a serious update right now.

I have a few "newish" sites that have either reverted back to old data, or have deep pages that haven't been updated for weeks.

I can't be certain without the url, but it's not necessarily a problem with your site.

    Cheers,
    Paz.

That is correct. Many of my PR5 sites used to get revisited every two or three days and one PR6 everyday. Now, it takes them double the period to get visited.

Thanks Guys, you are making me feel a little less worried. I hope that you are right and that it's not a problem but only time will tell.

You could also try adding a sitemap and set it up with Google Sitemaps. I know for my arcade site, that it helped to get the rest of my content in there.
