I did a small experiment with google translator.

I tried translating spanish articles to English:p After translating I published them in my blog (blogger.com) and I wanted to see if Google can find this.....yes it happenned!! Google is too smart....they slapped my site.

Has anyone tried these kind of experiments with google (and got slapped)?

What do you mean you got slapped ? Plenty of sites have pages translated into different languages, Spanish being one of the most prevalent.
I have a blog with a translator plug in running and I haven't seen any problems.

Google just hates you. If the original content shows up in another language, I can't imagine that it would be terribly easy for it to figure it out, google or not.

I mean..... google banned my site for doing that :D
However I did expect that. I did some tweaking in my content to escape from googlebot's filter......but like I said b4....Google is smart at they caught my site and gave the punishment it deserved.

What trick ? I don't understand what you guys are talking about. It's a simple translation plug in, why are you guys making this out to be some big black hat conspiracy to "Trick" Google ?

If you got "punished", it's because you did something else. Thousands of sites are translated into different languages.
There is no big secret or webmaster trick about it.

I used used google translator to translate some spanish articles...did nothing else. I used blogger account...updated 6 translated articles....I wanted to see what happens to the site....after few weeks I got a mail from Google saying that google blacklisted my site and will be banned in some 14 days or so:eek:

This is what happened and this is what I'm talking about. Please letme know if this could be done in a different way.

    Thanks for your input.

google considers translated content as unique content. If you got slapped by google, I am sure it is something else!

I don't know if it has anything to do with blogger, being a Google controlled product, or what , but hundreds of thousands of websites all over the web are translated into different languages, I don't see why Google would chose to just pick on you.
