Google Sites - Is it worth it?

I used to use Google Pages in the past and had good results using them as a review/landing page but now that Google has converting to using Google Sites, some of my sites have been moved and when I went to check them out I was really disappointed.

Just wondering if anyone has been using Google Sites and has any ideas that would help.

Also, what do you think, should I just move them to Blogger instead?

Thanks, look forward to the replies....

Cheap .biz or .info domains are a way more effective - Blogger, wordprees, googlepages are now losing its promotional potential...

I havent heard anything about them in years. I had a couple of them many years ago, and they got high page rank (but that's when you could easily get a PR3 in 6 months with no backlinks). They're just faded from existence from this point. Not worth it IMO, I dont even see them showing up in SERPs

Google Sites has its pros and cons. It's easy to use and set up. However I was surprised to see that all the external links that you create are forced to rel=nofollow. If you don't know what that means then Google Sites is probably fine for your purposes :D

Well, google pages were very good, especially if you had a good domain name, but google sites are not so good. Better use blogspot or wordpress blogs.

I think as one guy said above..cheap domains are better than free ones...moreover in future if u go to convert ur blogspot or wordpress domain to ur site...u will lose all backlinks and its ranking

Well, it is better to have your site on your own domain. You never know when you would lose your blog hosted on blogger or wordpress. I had experienced it before.

I think having your own site is much better. You have a lot of flexibility with the site design, content, SEO, bandwidth, storage space.
