Yes. They rank high because most of us webmasters keep discussing them giving them a lot of related backlinks..and thats what make them come on the top. nothing surprising in that.
Googles site is a PR10 and google is one fo the most popular sites on the internet, so googles own websites and products are going to rank number 1 for a lot of searches, especially in its own search engine. I dont see a problem with this, I dont think its being biased to its own websites.
Yes but I don't think 'video' is the definition of the Google Video: http://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=en&rls=GFRD,GFRD:2007-03,GFRD:en&q=video
Another thing is that Google owns google and they are the ones that do their algo's. They are the ones that know exactly how it works and exactly what to do to make their products rank high. They don't have to practically guess like us.
Well considering their website is probably the most popular a widely talked about in the world, they are bound to be high in the SERP's, especially in their own. Also they know their algorithm like the back of their hand, for Google their websites will be PERFECT SEO.
Maybe looking at the keyword density of Google pages could give us an insite into the perfect density...
The thing is, if anyone remembers a while back if you searched for a term that had 'blog' in it, Google would show you a message: Tip: Use blogger blah blah Then everybody started writing about it that it's not fair, and Google encourages everyone to do white hat SEO. Now instead of a 'tip' their stuff comes up in the first page if not first result...
They know their algo better than anyone else and they know how to optimize these pages to be number one in THEIR search engine. It's just: "Use our video feature". Don't tell me that you click on the video.yahoo.com (position 4) to search your video. Even if you do so, 90% will use the first (or the second) one to search. I think it's normal.
