Google Sitemaps says my keyword phrase is not on my site

I logged into google sitemaps>statistics>page analysis....there I find a list of keywords that are found on my site. I only glanced at this in the past and assumed that my primary keyword phrase (2 words long) would be there.

Much to my surprise nether of those 2 kewords are listed in the 100 keywords. I assume that they show the most popular/relevant keywords in order at google sitemaps?

Now, when I go to google analytics, follow the link for organic traffic, hit google, and look at the keywords that sent visitors to my site from google.......the very keyword phrase I am talking about is sending me traffic.

I find this to be very odd, unless the 100 keywords google sitemaps show are not in order of importance.

Of course the keyword is on the homepage and, in fact, on every page of my site. It is on every page in the internal linking anchor text and it is also in the text of many of the pages.

I do not rank particularly well for that keyword phrase though. But, for long tail keywords (3 words) with that phrase in it, I rank on page one.

Any thoughts on why google sitemaps would not list the target keyword phrase?
