    Hi All,

I would like to create sub domain in different language.
The main site is WordPress and using Google XML Sitemaps plugin. the sub domain will be separate WordPress installation.

What is the best way to manage sitemaps when you have sub domains?
Should I install XML Sitemaps plugin also on the sub domain?
Is it better to manage manually?

    Thanks!

depends on how many posts you have.
If you have only few posts and don't intend to make many in a short time, you can go for manual method.
    else the plugin works best.

Just a suggestion, since you are trying to make subdomains in different languages, take care that google doesn't treat the content as duplicate. As subdomains are treated as separate domains by google.

If it is a completely separate WP install, just install its own copy of the sitemap plugin.

If you want the two WP's to be related, just link them to each other like you would link to a separate domain. Google crawling will follow the links and use the sitemap of each site to figure out where it is supposed to be going to index pages.

As for drkunalup's comment about duplicate content, that is just irrelevant to your situation. If the sole purpose of the subdomain is to host a WP install with primarily the same content, just translated into another language, Google will have no problem with it in the context of what you want the subdomain for. When someone searches for "Your Keyword Phrase" in Language 1, your primary site will display. When someone searched for "Your Keyword Phrase" in Language 2, your subdomain will display.

Before fully deciding to use a separate install and subdomain for a second language, consider looking at some plugins. While WP does not natively support multi-language blogs, there are quite a few plugins to help you accomplish the goal of serving up a multi-lingual site from a single WP install.
