Google Sitemaps : Large Sitemap Questions

    Wonder if anyone can advise :
    If one has a large sitemap (50,000+ pages) - Would it be better to divide into multiple sitemap.xml files?

    Will Google have any trouble reading a large sitemap like this?

    Thanks for any suggestions

    From my understanding, google limits sitemaps at 50,000, so you definately need it divided.

    I personally submit multiple sitemaps of 15,000 each

    How do you divide the sitemap file? Is there a special program you use OR is it part of the Google XML sitemap program you're using to generate the sitemap file?

    you won't need t divide an xml file, cause Sitemap Writer Pro has no limitations on that one.
