    if you have a less than 500 pages site and don't want to bother much, go to http://xml-sitemaps.com. Otherwise, if you want to know your broken links, the reason why, change the optional paramaters tags in your xml file, include or exclude url matching, then have a look to http://www.webrickco.com/buildsitemap.php.
    Of course it's free.

    you can use GSite crawler to create your sitemap.
    Or you can find another free online sitemap creator.

    You also can use A1 sitemap generator which is a best software for all these stuffs. It can creates sitemap, check broken links, create robots.txt & much more!
