I submitted 4000 links using google sitemap,

only 5 got indexed? Is there anyway to get more of the links indexed?

I don't know. I submitted a 7MB file with 38,000 links and after 1 week it still says 20 are indexed. But doing site:www.mysite.com in google shows 15,000 matches. For now I will keep re-submitting my sitemaps using cron(1). I'll let you know if the number changes.

There seems a problem with google in reporting about the number of pages indexed when it is larger. Generally google shows the correct number of pages indexed if it is with in 500. If the submitted pages are in 1000s, then there will be a mismatch between the number of pages actually indexed and reported by the google in the google webmaster tools.

Ok, First check the all links in your site map are working properly or not. Secondly, google crawler takes some time from moving one link to another actually it takes some time in navigation... so it may take some more time for indexing the links....

I think it takes time to get those URLs indexed.
I submitted 10,000 URLs and 235 URLs got indexed after 3 days
