    Hi
I was wondering if I add a Google Sitemap to the Google Dashboard how much faster will my site show up on Google search results than if I just submitted my site to Google?

    Dude..!

Dont just submit your site in Google.. Signup for google webmasters... and add the Sitemap in thier Sitemap adding option..!

Then Google will seriously start thinking about your site..! :)

submitting sitemap to google webmasters does not guarantee indexing of all urls. Just submit it to only google webmasters only and google will take care of the rest.

Sitemaps help bots in site indexing... but you still need to perform link building in order to show in google results using your target keywords.

The best thing you can do is submit your sitemap to webmaster tools then start backlinking to your website. Make sure you hit the top level domain with directories etc, then go for deeper links within article submissions because this will show Google you have a broad range and good depth of information in your website.

Sincerely, I think you can avoid doing that. Submitting sitemap is like telling google that your site is new. Moreover, this might increase your speed of indexation but not guarantee that all your pages are indexed quickly. Why not just try to get links from quality sites?
