    Hello,

I use gsitecrawler to create sitemap for my websites.

Are there any tool to create a sitemap better than gsitecrawler?

I learned from this forum that if we have a sitemap on each site, it is good for SEO.

My other question is, gsitecrawler creates a sitemap and I place sitemap.xml file on the root directory.

Do I need to place it on the homepage?

Since my dating site has many links, what is the best way to do that?

    Thanks.

If you already have a good website structure I don't think a sitemap will make any difference in terms of SEO.
Use the sitemap to index internal pages which is hard for the crawlers to reach.
For fully indexed sites creating a sitemap is pretty much a waste of time.

For best seo, you should have a sitemap link at your footer in order to show the search engines it is there faster.

    Dear JennyPretty

Site maps are a must in terms of search engines, I can't say that they will position you better for keywords and rank you better but it all helps towards making your site index well. The best thing to do is add the sitemap.xml to the home directory like you have already done, then add a line in the robots.txt file stating the location of the sitemap.xml. The search engine crawlers have to look at this file before anything as that's where what they can and can't crawl is determined. The crawlers then see the link telling them where the sitemap.xml is located on the webserver. Hope this the below example helps.
