Google sitemap and indexing

    In Google sitemap I have n pages indexed.Also if I use the "site:" operator Google shows me the same n number, but if I go page by page to the end it shows me a m number, where m<n (by 70 pages).

    What happen with the pages that Google show indexed by number, but don't appear in the index ?
