google site: and duplicate content.

    If I check the cache in google of a website using site:http://www.example.com
    It shows about 500 pages cached. but shows only one page and I get this message
    In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 63 already displayed.

    Every page on the site has unique content, but the meta descriptions are mostly the same. Could this cause a duplicate content problem?

    That is not a duplicated content issue. You have to make different meta description tag for each page to prevent omitted pages shown in Google. See this thread for more info ;)
