Some day i face a Problem with SEO. I have a USA base client i start his SEO last 4-5 Months his .php site using all meta tag etc. i start a Key word but doing slowly SEO as a result i face a Puzzled Problem. When i search my Computer ( INDIA ) His site increase its position and number TWO in Google Search engine ( google.com) and same time my client search this term with same browser Google.com shows this site NINE POSITION and also it is gradually loose its postion. I can not understand what is the real cause Behind that? All are same only IP is different but google shows different position.

Please can any one clear me what is the wrong behind this?

A client of mine raised the same problem.

There are several different user-end factors that Google takes in before displaying their results. These include the location of the computer (IP address), being logged into a Google account and others. This is how they make their SERPs most relevant for their users. For a very basic example, if someone in India searches for "banks", they will get different results than someone in the USA searching for "banks". You can actually compare the differences like this:

    India "banks": http://www.google.com/search?q=banks&gl=in
    USA "banks": http://www.google.com/search?q=banks&gl=us

NO ONE but Google knows the extent of how far these location-based differences can go. People in different countries will see different SERPs even for keywords that have nothing to do with a location. Your best bet would be to start optimizing based on the US SERPs instead of your own.

It changed in March or June of 2009 when Google wanted to expand their local relevance and Google map integration. Imagine typing in car dealership and getting 100,000 listings and none of them in your area. So it can take your IP address and make it a local search which about 80% of searchers are trying to do any way.

Google show's relevant result form different Data center based on your ip address.
you can check ranking of client by changing your browser ip to US ip.
And there you can find same result as your client found.

Check the date of the search result cache, perhaps results are from 2 different spider index dates.

Yep, if the client has a Google account and Google tracks what they like, who they follow, and things like that, it can bring back different search placements.
But yes. even if both are using google.com, Google still knows your IP and where you are from, so they can still change what displays.

Apart from different data centers showing different, and different users IP's showing different results .... they also show personalise results depending on your search history and what you have clicked on in the past .. even when you are not logged into google...
thats why you see a " Web History " link at the top right of the results pages. Click that link to "opt out"

Well Google shows different position that depends on the various things like location of the user.
Also their can be problem related with the number of users. So one need to think which factor is it affecting.
