When you set google to show 100 results per page it shows quite different results. For sites that it used to show just 1 page in the top 10 when left to show 10 results per page, now it shows few internal pages as well. It does this multiple listing for quite few of the results that used to have just one page listed before. It looks like it spreads out some of the results when set to show 100 results per page. Have you noticed that and why do you think it is?
This has always been the case. Think about it. Google always groups pages from the same site together, when they appear on the same page. So if a site would have #1 and #9 and you view 10 per page, then this site would have positions #1 & #2. The #9 moves up to #2 because of grouping. If instead this site had #1 & #11 positions when you view 10 per page, then #11 is first on page 2 correct? Now, view the results as 100 per page. The #11 link moves to #2 because now they would be on the same results page.
Ya it is true when ever you are checking ranking on Google advance search then it show 1 to 5 rank fluctuation but the best way to check ranking is to check on 10 not in 100
ya it has been the case for many years. We used to see different results when we see 10 results at a time compared with 100 results
Yes Google usually displays more than one single page from some quality sites when the 10 displaying option is selected. Sometimes the homepages addresses are displayed followed by a few more sections of domains which get accessed by people more. Since most people are using the default 10 option, while checking your ranks, choosing that setting can help you having a better idea of your overall web status.
that's right.. i also encounter that one.. that's why i just use the normal search whenever i'm looking for my site rankings..
It becoming more often too that when you search the same term with few minutes interval, you will get different results.
