Hello Friends, I am having two sites: www(dot)myvacations.co.uk and www(dot)shortbreak.uk.com both the sites used to run from same IP. On 4th May, we made another site for shortbreak and put that site on different IP. Now, when i see the cache of this site, its showing me the cache of myvacations and not shortbreak and the cache date is 6th May. Can anyone know the reason?? Thanks
Could it have been a problem with your web hosting? Sometimes domains pointed at a web server will show the "default" site until Apache is correctly configured. Perhaps GoogleBot caught the server with its pants down. I've heard some reports that Google are having problems with different sites that share the same IP address. Problems with the wrong page being cached, or the wrong page title displayed in SERPs. I'm not sure of the accuracy of the reports
From Matt Cutt's blog Full post Also keep in mind that although the site might have been moved on 4th May it is possible that the DNS servers took some time to propagate, so on the 6th of may that google cached the site the DNS was probably pointing at the old IP
I wouldn't trust that Cutts bloke as far as I could throw him ... I'M KIDDING Yes, it does look like it could be either of those options causing your issues. Either way it should resolve itself over time
