google should allow double click ads through adsense

googlew has bought double click for some time now and it makes sense to allow adsense publishers to monitize through the cpm system as many publishers get more page impressions that clicks

other wise google has thrown 3 billion$ in the drain

double click is a contextual program and its against adsense TOS to place them together in same page.

Google does not own DoubleClick, they may or may not own them in a few months but currently they are jumping through a lot of hoops to convince the government to allow them to make the purchase and even if they do end up buying them it will be a long time before they integrate the two systems.

Get your facts right. Double click will be acquired by Google, atleast that was their intention.

Secondly, the deal is not through yet since it challenged in the court. You guys need to wait till google consolidate doubleclick into adsense.

yes, only thing is the other ads must not look too much like the adsense on your site (colors)
check the tos or wherever, it's been a change in adsense policy. If someone can just confirm to you on this post it would be nice. or ask adsense team.

I found this in the TOS below

    '''Competitive Ads and Services

In order to prevent user confusion, we do not permit Google ads or search boxes to be published on websites that also contain other ads or services formatted to use the same layout and colors as the Google ads or search boxes on that site. Although you may sell ads directly on your site, it is your responsibility to ensure these ads cannot be confused with Google ads.

Wow this is a big change in adsense policy, Nice Update :)

as for googles plans for DoubleClick, well double click doesnt have advertisers. (Yes i looked it up and enquired about it), its a very very fancy version of open ads. You pay to use their network. Its for sites where you have private dealings with advertisers, ie 1 to 1 relationships.

DoubleClick wouldnt touch you with a barge poll unless you have over 10million page impressons per month, and they charge something like $3,000 a year (or so, that could be a month..) for usage of their services.

Google wants in because it gives them unprecidented statistics of the biggest websites and their advertisers on the internet.

Will us poor AdSense people see it? Possibly, as a hosted ad delievery solution, so you can target adsense and other advertising networks at people, and would be a "useful" tool for publishers.

Also double click handles the "money" in transactions between advertiser and publisher. So double click sends you a cheque less their expenses (as far as i can tell, they are extremly sketchy with details on their own site), so that would be quite attractive for Google.

I dont have a doubleclick account but that is my understanding.
