    I've heard mixed reviews about the power of Google+ shares and +1s and their effect on SEO. Have you seen success from Google+?

    +1s and shares count as social signals and help with backlinks to your content.

    Using Google+ for a local business is a very good idea. It is connected with Google search and Youtube as I'm sure you know. G+ pages also usually rank better then FB pages. If people have you in their circles you have a better chance at showing up on the first page of Google. Google's default search is personal search.
