I've read here that Yahoo factors in how many times your site gets clicked for a certain keyphrase and getting more clicks could increase your ranking for that keyphrase. For example, if you're ranked 20th for the keyphrase "new cars" and everyone clicks it more than the 17th, 18th, and 19th ranked sites, you could potentially move up. I'm wondering if Google does something similar? Any thoughts on this?
Google takes this into consideration also. How much it really matters I don't know, but it is taken into consideration.
What if you ranked on page 50 or somewhere near the end of the search results? It is very unlikely someone will click on your site. It might play some part but I doubt it has much of an impact on your position.
Off course it matter for Google. For this reason only Google is giving free tools like Google toolbar, analytics, feed burner etc. This actually helps Google to track site stats and check site loyalty. You can easily come up with gathering more backlinks.
I think they also take into consideration the time someone spends on your site before returning to the SERPs to look at more results
I'm just speculating, but I'm sure search engines take this into account. To make things simple, say Google expects you to get 1 click at the 50th rank per day. Well say you get 10 clicks. This could improve your ranking. Likewise, if you're ranked 1st, Google might expect 150 clicks. Again, this is total speculation. It's just a thought.
only god or google staff know this. but i think they would include it as a factor of their algo though but how important it is, who knows. XD
