One of my websites has a strange issue with google.co.uk. When I do site:www.mysite etc. All my pages display, yet when I click UK only all the pages display except my home page. The site is UK hosted on a .biz domain. The weird bit is that if Google considered it a non UK site why does it display all the pages minus the home page, shouldn't it show none. Help me please, Thanks, Dave.
Not entirely clear on what your saying. Are you saying that your results are different when searching site:yoursite on Google.com and site:yoursite on Google.co.uk? If that's the problem, then it's not a problem really. It's a matter of different data centers indexing your site before others. In this case, the .com DC's got to your site before .co.uk's did. Not really surprised either, since your site isn't on a .co.uk domain name, google hasn't picked up that your site is even from the UK. correct me if I read wrong
This problem has nothing to do with google.com. When you use google.co.uk you can just search or you can tick a box for UK only. With just google.co.uk all 8 pages to my site show up. With google.co.uk with UK only box ticked 7 pages show up but my homepage doesn't. The point I'm trying to make is that with the UK box ticked if Google saw my site as a non UK site why would it show some pages an not others. Also, I could understand if it was deeper pages missing as this could be that they are not indexed properly but its the home page disappearing. Is that clearer? This is what i mean \/\/ http://www.google.co.uk/search?sour...06-32,GGLJ:en&q=site:www.hybrid-computers.biz Then with UK box ticked \/\/ http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=e...s.biz&btnG=Search&meta=cr=countryUK|countryGB Strange isnt it... Cheers! Dave.
Very interesting It does it on SERPs as well http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&rls=GGLJ,GGLJ:2006-32,GGLJ:en&q=Hybrid+Computers+&meta= and UK Only http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=e...ters+&btnG=Search&meta=cr=countryUK|countryGB
It bothers me because I am a UK company. So when someone searches for computer repair then hits UK only my home page doesn't show up. It's kind of an issue wouldn't you agree?
