Hi all, I have a question. I am working on two sites. I was doing dir submission for homepage of both sites. Before starting dir submission homepage of both site was on serps with ranking. But after one week of doing dir submission i found homepage of my both sites are out from serps, but still indexed. One of my site homepage is not cached since mid of Oct. But second one still indexed regularly. So now here i want to know " Is that any kind of penalty of dir submission by google to my both sites" and what should i do now? I need your replies. thanks
Links to your website should not hurt you. The only problem I could see is if you submitted and got accepted in hundreds and hundreds of directories all in a relative short period of time. Google could of possibly picked up on some abnormal activity and maybe penalized the site. Sites are always dropping and then coming back in google, so if you have the patience ride the Google wave and wait to see if your serps return before making any drastic changes.
You may be sandboxed if a fairly new site - you need a balanced natural links profile - so if you went from no links to tons of links (and only from directories) in a short space of time - this may not be helping
If Your sites are NEW ... during first days You GOT FSB - fresh site bonus :d fromGoogle but after few days You lost Your SERPS results becouse your site is NEW and You need get more quality links to Your site BE patiend... Creat Quality Content and GET quality LINKs to Your site and all will be fine !
You won't get penalized with directory submissions...and you wont get a stable SERPs ranking if you don't have some good links to back you up. Continue link building and proper search engine optimization to get back on track..
