FYI - hardly any regular web users add quotes to their search, they simply dont know the function exists
compunax, This is your problem: "FREE SMALL BUSINESS ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE". Sites with zillions more incoming links are beating you because they have those words SOMEWHERE on their page or in anchors. Those sites have been ranking there for years. Look at the domain names. You've things mixed up. The searches per month is what makes it long tail or not, but has nothing to do with competition. SERPs using quotes: 73,900 pages. So what? What exactly does that tell you? That tells you how many pages have that exact phrase on page or in anchor. Last year, Matt Cutts' blog ranked top ten for "buy viagra" because he mentioned it in one blog post. Big sites are going to keep you out of the top 20 until you understand the principles at work. Basically, you need to read more how to pick a non-competitive long tail AND get the advice of another experience SE marketer BEFORE you leap into a niche. Bompa
2 BOMPA Well, thank you for the advise, I will sudy harder. But I looked at 1st site in SERP, quickbooks.intuit.com. That particular page that is on the 1st position - doesn`t have this exact KW in text at all. Besides, it has less than 10 backlinks with the exact KW in anchor. And I have 50+ backlinks with exact anchor.. Is that not enough for me to appear somewhere in top 30 for query without quotes ??? Somewhere in top 70 ?? Big G doesn`t list me at all !!!
The keywords do not need to be in exact order. In fact, it could have part of the phrase scattered about the page and other parts of the phrase in anchors. Bompa
Well to get high SERP you need to keep on updating your blog regularly and also your content should be around that keyword. That is the best way to boost your blog in GOogle.
Exactly! I don`t need the position with quotes but I have it. I need position without quotes but I don`t have it.
From your post i assume you have only links from article sites and web 2.0 sites Well diversified link building is the best process Considering your niche and competition, if you can get around 10 links from related or closely related topic websites you can see a big boost in your search rankings, try getting links throgh blogposts at related (business software related/business related) blogs, you might have to pay for it, but worth it
i also have many same cases with yours. i have more backlink than the NO.1 site has but remember that keyword and backlink is not the only factors affecting ranking on search engine, Yes keyword and backlink is the most affecting factor, but you also have to optimize some other important factors. and btw, your 5 words long keywords is still competitive, although it is 5 words long but it contain many competitive keywords, like Bompa said, KW no need to be in exact order
same thing happen to one of my health blogs it was pr1 than dropped to pr0 and now even not cached i have changed hosting whole content its using uaw can any one suggest me to optimize automated blog please
I've personally seen some massive drops and some massive increases in the last 7-8 days. Some aged sites 3-4 years old gone from #1 to #50 and some average sites gone from #100 to #8.. Never really seen such a large fluctuation. I'm not sure if things will retrun to normal or if this is more of a permanent thing ???
Are yuo sure that the SERP position is about frequent updates? Seems like these are two different topics...
Until you get a firm ranking in Google, you'll rank statically. It can take 3-9 months to get a proper ranking, I've had some sites establish 1st page rankings within 7 months, and stay there, for searches 15,000,000+
