Good day all; I've enjoyed 2 years of consistent top 10 results for my keyword, with great traffic. On March 8th it became nothing better than page 4, usually worse. These are the same keywords that have always worked, there has been no major changes aside from regular pages that I add. My understanding of the Panda update is that it targets links farms, low content sites which mine is not. All keywords still have relatively the same search volume, but we all know that page 4,5,6 is no mans land I am asking for direction as I am not sure what approach to take. This is where you come in my friend. 1.I could wait and see if my rank comes back ( an extended google dance perhaps?) 2.Use another site using the same keywords trying to attain what I already had 3.Go after new/related/longtail keywords with the existing site (it is 8 yrs old now) 4. suggestions? I thank all who give their 2 cents!
The problem is in fact because of the Panda update. When google said it targeted link farms and low content site, they didn't mean business websites or anything like that. They where targeting website's that were known as being link farm websites and low content websites. Now the problem I think you are encountering is that, you probably had a lot of inbound links coming from those link farm websites and low content websites. Then the Panda update happened and all your inbound links had no more weight, therefore, you lost rankings.
maybe you should take a look at the sites that entered the top 10 results after the update and see if you can figure out how their seo tactics are different from yours. good luck
Yeah, a few of my clients have bounced around in the serps due to the Panda update. My 2 cents, is continue to add content while diversifying your link building efforts. Good luck
i think Google found duplicate content your site is going to Google Sandbox check ur site content and remove duplicate content
I hope your site doesn't fall in this category Google has announced a major algorithmic change to its search engine, subtle in nature and perhaps unnoticeable to many users, but one that should dramatically improve the quality of Google’s search results. With this move, Google is targeting content farms – a common name for low quality sites whose main goal is to attract search traffic by piling up (mostly) useless content, usually by either producing large amounts of low-quality text or by copying it from websites with original content.
I have no dupe content, I'm not a link farm, not even close. I must admit, my content factor is kind of weak.I don't write a lot. I find it difficult. My plan of action is to remove all outbound links. All of them, even to sites that are owned by me, with th exception of one or two. I ve created a blog ,that i've commited to writing entries into several times a week. hopefully this will bring me up a page or two in the SERPs. I do need quality dofollow links, that will be phase two, I suppose...so much work to do, so litle time ...thank you all for your input
same senario with my site also i don't know when it will be back to normal, i am doing the waiting game ... now
the only solution to sandbox is...what? if there is one,...what aspect of good SEO should I focus on? ...as far as quality backlinks, I'm not even sure how to go about it...I found a google penalty checker site, which says I am a -30...ugghh
