Google SEO Vs Yahoo SEO

    I am looking for some good information on G vs Y Seo.
    I rank very good in Y and MSN for my main keywords and many lesser keywords but G is giving me a hard time.
    I have been working hard at adding links yet I seem to be slipping in G. I was up to around 30 last week after donating to (dp) and have dropped to 50 not sure what to do. I hate to start changing on page facters for fear of losing what I have with Y and MSn.
    I was wondering if anybody has some good reading info on SEO for G VS Y?
    Or personal experience that may help.

    Thanks

    Yahoo= on-page
    Google=off-page

    Get all the anchored backlinks you can.

    MSN and Yahoo rely heavily on on-page factors because Google holds the patents on almost all of the reliable off-page methods.

    If your doing well on M and Y it means your on-page is good. Build more links :D

    The major difference comes in the way they calculate Link Popularity (PageRank vs WebRank). They both heavily rely on link-popularity and the anchor text of links, which are off-page factors.

    There's absolutely no way to develop a good search engine, which relies mostly on on-page factors. They are too easy to manipulate. Link Popularity is much more difficult.

    Nonsense. Why then Google is #2 on Yahoo for "search engine". Google's home page does not use "search engine" even once. Which on-page factors determined it to be #2?

    All decent search engines rely heavily on link popularity and anchor text hits. Period.

    Agree 100%

    Yahoo's Manager for Web Search told me that they give a lot of weight to anchor text and all my experience this year confirms that.

    Cant say I agree with you here. Ive found MSN beta to rely heavily on link popularity and anchor text... as have many others.
