I am launching a brand new site with ZERO page rank. I am working on link building and other optimization. My industry is pretty competitive so I need to come up with a good strategy to give us a solid foundation. My budget is very limited. Part of my approach is to buy an old domain with p2-p3 rank and 301 this domain to my new domain. I am hoping this will give me a good lift. Is this good, bad, dumb? I really need some insight. Thanks in advance.
probally a waste of money since unless the old domain is related and gets traffic it wont give uu any benefit apart from a bit of green line on pagerank readers
Build a handful of pages, point a handful of links to it, wait for it to get cached. Once cached, start adding pages and getting more backlinks. Use good on page optimization and a good internal linking strategy. Rinse and repeat until you own the world.
If you are buying a domain, please make sure it is related to your product. for example a gaming site: www.gamecrackers.com and a site not related: www.shoeless.com the site with the word game in it is respected by google, then shoeless, so don't waste your money on something that would not do you any good.
What are the good sites which offers free yahoo, dmoz listed domain names list. Also can kindly mention me the best paid services for yahoo, dmoz listed domains..
Doesn't using rss from one source create a danger of duplication on your page, would this not effect your page rank?
If you want buying a old domain it must be relevant and not banned from google. Another thing is if you find a relevant domain they have or had content and backlinks its possible its not easy to wait caching from google with new content. If you come up with a new domain its easyly. Because your content is the first for this domain. You must more reading and be to hurry up to catch the next pagerank update (if it's important for you)
