Google seems to update on Sundays

Is it just me or does Google always do SERPS repositioning on Sundays?

I just like almost everyone go up and down in the rankings with no consistancy. One month my site is gone, the next it comes back.

But from all this inconsistancy one thing that is consistant is "It always happens on a Sunday"

5 weeks ago my visits went through the roof on a Sunday and lasted for one week to a Sunday. Then they were gone for 3 weeks. Yesterday (Sunday) they all went through the roof again.

I suspect this will last again for 1 week and they will be gone on Sunday coming up.

Not that this matters much, but does anyone else notice Sundays? I know in the past and I have been doing SEO for 5 years now but Google always updated on holidays on the weekend to do major updates because of less internet traffic.

Maybe they follow the same policy and choose Sunday's as the day of the week with the least traffic to update sites.

Yah, I know, who cares right.

I used to have this problem on fridays in the UK!

Problem does not occur anymore on established sites we have but does still occur on lesser established sites!

hmmm, since I am tracking everyday I would have to say that it updates everyday. :D I used to think otherwise but when you are tracking a website in the 200-400 rank (for a keyword), the ranks tend to change everyday..

Yes, it does fluctuate everyday. I am talking BIG updates. You know those times when you go from having a site delisted to listed. Or times when you go from having 10 visitors to 100 visitors.

That always happens on Sundays for me.

I am a very happy person with this update.

Yes, it just happened to me this Sunday. My site was ranked #5 for one term and now nowhere to be found. It always happens on Sunday to me.

He didn't hear it, he posted his personal experiences and asked for confirmation, which he has received.

I do notice fluctuation every day, but Sundays always seem to be a more involved change with larger traffic drops and increases then any other week for me.

It makes sense for Google to do updates on the weekends, cause many times especially when applying new algorithm changes, the results might not be satisfactory so the will roll the change back, so they dont need this to happen in the regular days where Google users are far more from weekends

This reminds me of a post I did a couple of month ago.

Not saying that this Sunday theory is right or wrong, just that the nature of forums would mean that you'll get a more loud response from people that have had changes on Sundays. 10 or so replies from a forum that has hundreds on at any time, isnt really convincing evidence for me.

Btw, for me, I noticed a big change on one of my sites on last Sunday ... but no change for the others.

i never pay attention to the day they update but i check my site eventually and always see the changes. it doesn't mean much to me but it make sense that they should update it everyday not on a specific day of the week. (or it may vary through out the data center? who knows.)
