Google seems to have banned my site?

    Alright guys,

I've got a move fan site.

It has a forum, it's front page is a blog -- which i keep up to date.

The site is over 1 year old. Has a PR3. yahoo's saying it has about 50 backlinks -- inc wikipedia.

It has been like position 2# in google for months some times.

Strange thing is -- it's now gone! Completly.

If you search my domain name, it brings up other sites linking to my site -- but none of my site!

Typing www.site-name.com dosnt bring it up either.

I'm sure google has removed it -- but i dont know why.

Any ideas on how i can bring it back?

I dont think it can be sandbox being over a year old. And i've not spammed the site - it dosnt "auto update" with content - its all unique.

    Any help please!!!! :)

Seems like a ban to me. Try contacting them about it, maybe you can submit a re-inclusion request after you've fixed whatever caused the ban.

Did this just happen today? If so, wait a few days and see if it returns to normal, could just be an issue with a data center. Happens to my sites every once and awhile.

I also say wait a few days and see if it comes back. I've had sites disappear only to return again a few days later.

If it doesn't come back you will need to figure out what you did wrong to get it dropped, fix it, and then submit a reconsideration to their webmaster tools area.

Yeah, i think its totally been banned.

    Cheers for the replies guys.

I signed up for the google webmaster thing, and it totally explained why i was banned :(

Dear site owner or webmaster of .com,

While we were indexing your webpages, we detected that some of your pages were using techniques that are outside our quality guidelines, which can be found here: http://www.google.com/webmasters/guidelines.html. This appears to be because your site has been modified by a third party. Typically, the offending party gains access to an insecure directory that has open permissions. Many times, they will upload files or modify existing ones, which then show up as spam in our index.

Guess i'll fix the problems now, and see how long it takes to come back in.

Reading it now, it seems that i have comments in my blog that are pure spam -- and google wants me to remove them comments before reincluding my site.

have you tryed to search "site:yourdomain.com"? if your website is shown there then you are unlikely to be banned.
and also tell us for how long its like that alredy?
