It doesn't. It's a relic of the past.

I just fell an average of about 50 places on about 100 low-competition SERPS which I monitor.

It hasn't hit all of the data centers yet.

This is exactly how Bourbon began.

This is the same site of mine which got accidentally whacked by the faulty Bourbon algorithm and spent 30 days with almost zero Google traffic before those numbskulls fixed their faulty algorithm.

If the same site keeps getting hit, then perhaps your playing a little close to the edge.

All of my sites are SEO'd similarly. There is nothing special about this site.

This kind of reminds me of an experience back in late 2003 and early 2004.

Another one of my sites, http://www.gsmsecurity.com went PR0 and disappeared from the SERPS. I waited through a couple of Googe PR updates and nothing happened. I e-mailed Google and they said "You are not being penalized, get more backlinks." Well, the site was a PR4 before the screw-up and I could still see all of those backlinks being active. So, I registered http://www.gsm-security.net and 301's the .com to the .net. Everything bounced back perfectly. A few months later, even the .com had recovered.

The moral of this story: Google are a bunch of idiots and their database is buggy as hell.

I'm experiecing allinanchor drop now. One kw went from #2 to #45. Another moved from #1 to #41. Huge drop I think. :(

This thing is new today as I was monitoring all DCs whole this week. These days only minor up & downs were happening. But now main kw went down to 873 from 12

Any idea what this is all about ? Anyone else experiecing this ?

Hmm... now that you mention it, I did see a 10% drop around last Friday, but I attributed it to my Co-Op weight dropping due to a technical issue on one of my sites.

    Try dropping 80.
I did up the density of the kw a bit last week, but I am seeing pages with no relevance or targeting for that keyword phrase in the top ten.
There are many more with no relevance before my listing shows.

some of my last remaining google sites got knocked, but some for only certain phrases

I am down to one site with the coop that still has any key phrases rnaking in google

all my client sites that are over a year or 2 old took heavy losses

I'm going to miss those clients .....

Thank god for msn and yahoo, I freaking love those search engines

But you can't (normally) make a living with the little dribs and drabs of traffic that goes through Yahoo or MSN.

I am noticing Google has stopped visiting daily. My main page used to be indexed daily, hasn't been indexed now for 2 weeks..also this corresponding with a BIG drop in rankings on 90% of my keywords.

Looks like another buggy update rolling out from Google labs.

Let's just hope it doesn't take the stubborn bastards a whole month to recognize the problems this time.

I don't know what you consider a living but

I have had sites make $200 - $300 a day from yahoo and msn, I hopefully will have them again in time

my girlfriend has a site right now thats averaging over $100 a day and its totally kicked out of google,

What really sucks is that most of my clients are from when google and yahoo where the same thing, so the contract specifically states I get paid to get rankings in google, with no real mention of yahoo and msn.

Anyways I am trying to work on a make a little from a lot of sites plan, instead of make a lot from one. so little drip and drabs are fine

Me, too, Lucky. The main page was being crawled daily, or at worst every second day. Now it hasn't been visited since October 5th.

I monitor 67 keywords. This morning, I got destroyed. On a normal day, I see some flux -- normal ups and downs. Today, I've received 7 drops and 26 moved down. My subdomain moved down 2 and dropped 4. No gains anywhere.

I'm not feeling too good about this...
