This is something to watch.... http://eval.google.com very interesting ---- this is pretty amazing too: http://www.searchmash.com (Google really is in love with wiki)
eval.google.com IS NOT "search evaluated by humans" !! google would hire millions and millions os people to rank x-bilions of pages, every day ...
I was playing around on Google and found a new one that they are promoting. They are calling it Google Image Labeler. I imagine they will use it to better their image results by by ranking them with by their tags. It's kind of interesting how they are doing it. If you have time check it out.
They're actually quite brilliant about it. They pair two people, show them the same image and them write keywords for the image. Whichever keyword is first written by both persons gets assigned to the image. Thereby effetively preventing that people mislable the image. Brilliant!
http://eval.google.com is human evaluated search results. It displays results that basically have sites removed from it that have been deemed "bad" by people hired by Google. I have seen Google's classified ads first hand in newspapers. Click it and weep: http://jobsearch.monster.ca/getjob....05-05-16+15:20:07&Logo=1&pg=1&q=Rater&sort=rv The keyword here is "evaluated". Humans aren't replacing bots..they are simply evaluated results at google.com and the result of their evaluation is displayed at eval.google.com ..doesn't take billions to do that. Actually, only one person could do that!
