    Hi there :)

Strange lines in my logfile. It shows, that

    IP 74.125.16.65
    OrgName: Google Inc.
    OrgID: GOGL
    Address: 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway
    City: Mountain View
    StateProv: CA
    PostalCode: 94043
    Country: US

*searched* via google.com for my site (http://www.google.com/search?q=www.domain.com).

Why in the world would perform google a search for my site (No Adsense-Advertising)? They could simply spider me? Its a very low traffic site with maybe 10 visitors per day.

Or maybe its a check because some of my competitors suspect my site using black hat SEO?

Maybe some of you have experience with this?

    Thank you! :)

    Kind regards from Vienna.

    Andreas.

Could it have been someone searching yourdomain.com in Google, and instead of clicking on the link to your site they clicked on the cache link, would that show up as Google accessing your site from a yourdomain.com search query?

If you use Analytics you can see which people accessed your site through the Google cache and which search term they used.

    Cheers

This is most likely just a quality assurance visit. Google wants to make sure that the algos are working and that spam isn't in their index.
