A community project that i've been planning to run for a while is to create a site where stats are collected about the amount of google searches done on a term in a given time period. I've thought about this, and the best way to me seems to be an includable iframe that records the referer to a page it is included in if the referer appears to be a google search. The benefit of using an iframe is that it can be included in any HTML page, and is not tied down to a specific programming language. If a large number of sites that recieved a lot of google traffic were involved, it'd be possible to collate some kind of statistics about google searches over the period of days/months/years, they wouldn't be complete but they'd at least give people planning to advertise on google, or targetting keywords for searches some idea of what kind of searches people are doing. This might make no sense whatsoever, so bear with me. If what i said _did_ make sense and you're interested, feel free to reply and tell me what you think.
