So someone spammed a Craigslist ripoff site and each post got picked up by Google? I think it's time for Google to demote Gumtree listings.

Very interesting. Google is biting their hands get on top of classified ads industry pushing down craigslist with Gumtree and Kijiji. Gumtree isn't doing that bad, but kijiji is a failure so far.
I posted an ad on kijiji on the services section for webcosmo.com. They removed it promptly. Although I think it was a legit ad.

It just goes to prove that sub-domains are treated as completely separate entities when it comes to google and gumtree has exploited this successfully. Too bad for google.

That is a very good point also - normally Goog only returns max 2 results for 1 site so they are very broken with sub domains.

I had not considered this - thanks

Yet another example of yahoo being better than google recently.

I am seeing a lot of this lately!

looks like the issue is handling the subdomains.

Google looks like treating the sub domains as a saperate site.

And hence they don't feel that search result is messdup.

Try Ayhoo.com for the same.. (They are showing the first two results from the same company)

After the fist two yahoo search is OK!

What is going on with Google...
