when doing keyword research using google should i consider results with quotations marks or without because the number is significantly different. example: searching for chicago i get Results 1 - 10 of about 309,000,000 for chicago and searching for "chicago" i get Results 1 - 10 of about 309,000,000 for "chicago". thanks!
Well i dont really understand this question but i will try to answer it as good as i can. Using quotation marks will allow you to search using google for the words in the excact same order for example if i search: how to use google google will look for all the words seperatly so that will get a really high search result list. but with the quotation marks google will search for the exact sentence and not all the apart words. result? Only website that used that exact same sentence will come up. wich will be allot less! The search you used was 1 word. So if google search for all the apart words it will still be chicago. and with quotation marks it will still be chicago. but as i said with multiple words it will be allot diffrent!
thanks for your reply! well..i used a bad example...i should have used two or more words. my concern is which example should i follow when looking for a new niche? thanks
Menzow is absolutely right. @Adisolutions - If you are searching for new niche then you should use quotations marks because that will show you exact phrase that you are searching for. Cheers!
If you want to truly evaluate how competitive a niche is, remove the quotes as this is how the typical searcher will search.
