Google search results have disappeared for home page

Our home page ranked very well for several search terms, but recently that has changed. Now, our homepage does not show in the SERPs for any search terms.
However, many of the sub-pages are included in the SERPs, but with very low ranking.
What has happened? If Google drops a site for some reason(spamming, etc.), is possible that only the home page is affected and other pages continue to show?

Welcome to the world of the Google Dance. not wishing to be or sound sarcastic but this does happen from time to time. If your site is totally legit and you have nothing to hide then I usually find a fairly straight forward request to Google via Webmaster Central to ask why you have been dropped etc works. Seriously, they never reply as is their policy but the sites always bounce back in (sometimes higher) after a few days. I had one site that habitually got drpped by Google every thursday to Saturday for four weeks running. Now its been OK for three months now. Wierd or what?

Go to Googles main page and look under Advertising Programmes or just Google Webmaster Central. Just googled it myself and found webmaster central. Its where you sign up for site maps etc and all the other services. Can't post the url as the forum won't let me do it yet but believe me you can find it if you google it.

    The most important question was.........
If Google drops a site for some reason(spamming, etc.), is possible that only the home page is affected and other pages continue to show?

Does anyone have an answer? Thanks

It looks like some kind of Google penalty. I think you will lost most of the organic traffic until the problem is fixed.
Login in Google Webmaster Tools, see if you can find the problem there or email Google Support Team for help.
Have you done anything too spammy or blackhat recently?

Did you make any changes to your site? Is your site new, or was it ranking for keywords that have suddenly become more popular than they were a few weeks ago, like palin?

In google, the redwing site is 90% reciprocal link directory pages. Do you also sell links ? The site has a number of links on p3 pages that have exactly jack shit to do with golf clubs.

    [edit]
on reading catanich' remark, : I assume it's the redwing site. If not, ignore the post.
