Google search results for "car".. how many results do you get ?

Hey,

I made a search on "car" with google. And navigated to end of list. On a page number 100 I got :
Results 991 - 1000 of about 990,000,000 for car.

What is this 990,000,000 number about ?
How many results were found 1000 or 990,000,000 ?

Maybe it is not showing all results, just showing 1000 of 990,000,000 maximum ?

I think google does not show all the results when there is duplicate content.

Google dont show any more than 1000 search results. Out of "990,000,000", google is showing you the first 1000.

 

google took away supplemental index so it will show duplicate content.

 

I agree, it's kind of funny that google says there are this many results but they only show you their top 1000. Why even tell us how many results there are if we don't have access to them.
