I update the site on a daily basis with the daily upload sitemap also
Sometimes the site was ranked first in search results and other times not showing ever

My site was removed from Google for 6 months... came back for 3 weeks, and now is gone again.

So you're not the only one having this problem.

solution? i can think only 1 solution for this matters, intelligently optimize your site... take it as a challenge... outplay your competitors and win the battle to become #1 in SERP...

This is a common occurrence with new site or new sub pages, I
think this problem can be eliminated if you build enough quality
    backlinks to your site.

I have a site that was ranked on the 5th page for its primary keyword and had been moving up over the past 6 months very well. Last week it jumped to position#15 for the keyword on the second page. Then we did a press release that linked back to the website. and the site is now no longer found at all for that keyword.

Anyone have any ideas why a press release would cause Google to treat the site so negatively in the rankings? Or if removing outbound links from the site would cause this issue? The site is well optimized and has been online for 5 years and is updated daily with new/fresh content.

its just normal, theres a huge competition for the position we all want. If your site position in the serp drop may you need to analyze your site against the your competitors then come up with your proper solution for that.

despite of the competitions, its possible that they started to count on links (in terms of value/weight). But then, no one know the real answer for that. Because Google wont reveal the truth for us. Best way i think is to observe and try to do some testing and will see. IMO

I think your page rank was dropped for that reason your search results were dropped
