I use statcounter and it shows the link from a google search page someone used to come to my site, however about half the time i click the link and go to the search page I can't find my site listed. Is this the result of different data centers?

Yes, it is. It happens the other way round, too. You will notice this when using the DP keyword ranking tool: rankings differ quite often from what you can see when actually looking for your site with a particular keyword.

    Thanks,

Does Google then use a cookie so you access the same data center so you get the same results or can you actually get different results doing simultaneous searches?

    I still don't get it.

    I checked my stats,

someone on google(greece) did a search for a person by last name, first name. I checked the link and was taken to page 1 of google(greece) where I could not find my site listed.

minutes later that someone on google(greece) did a search for a person by first name, last name. I checked the new link and was taken to page 2 of google(greece) where I could not find my site listed again.

Trying the same searches on google(greece) did not show my site either.

    Can anyone explain it please?

Are you running any ad campaigns that could have placed you on that results page?

May any dynamic content (news feeds etc.) cause such results?

i dont think it matters whether its google (uk) google (greece) or google (.com) they still pull results from whichever datacenter is closest to you geographic location.

so if your datacenter hasnt updated with the person who is searching's datacenter they will show different results.

Firstly, no dynamic content, what I'm trying to understand, statcounter gives me the exact Google page they came from, but when I go to that page more times than not I do not find my site, with MSN or Yahoo I always see my site.
