Is it just my site or is google messed up? Ever since our site launched 2 years ago, our site has been #1 in many popular seach terms. The last few days, our uniques per day have fell by the thousands, I did some investigating and I found out we have 12,000 some pages indexed in google. However, our site doesn't come up until the 50th or so page now when our site was #1. Nothing changed on the site recently! Any help would be great!

EDIT: By the way, our site is http://www.muscle-mustangs.com Even if you search in google for: Muscle-Mustangs, our site doesn't even list and our site used to be number 1 for that term and the term: Ford Mustang.

all the google datacenters are unable to display your site on top 10 results, seems like you have a new competitor in place ?

if its recent, i wouldn't worry too much just yet. Everything is in flux. I'm at about 40-50% of normal traffic today. I think google hosed the recent update. give it a few days before jumping out any windows.

Sorry to say, but don't count on the rankings coming back anytime soon.

Start buying mores sites. This is the only way to survive in this industry.

Well, I agree to that, Google isn't known for moving rankings up and down every few days as MSN or Yahoo do

It can happen though.. but it's best not to count on it, and begin promoting other stuff. You never know, one day you might wake and see your old site shoot up to higher than previous rankings. I've seen it happen several months after being dumped.

Google & co have far too much power, they can put people out of business by merely experimenting with equations & such.
