I threw together an application for facebook that allows puts a google search on your profile that links to your adsense account. Anyone with a facebook account who is interested in making a little money off their profile can add the application.

Wow, facebook approved something that could allow you to make money with your profile? They've been extremely anal about that kind of stuff in my experience.

I had no idea that facebook was so strict. The application has not made it through the application process yet. I skimmed through the TOS and it didn't seem to mention anything. What sort of applications have been rejected?

I don't know about applications, but just mentioning something on your profile or a group or pool using a company name and/or URL has almost gotten me and my friends banned. All while they push sponsored links in the mini feeds and charge for virtual gifts...

    One example I got:

The pool ****** Pool has been removed due to a violation
of our Terms of Use, and this email serves as a warning. Additional
violations will result in the termination of your account. Please read
our Terms carefully and refrain from posting abusive material in the
    future.

We do not allow users to post pools to advertise or promote any product
or opportunity. This is a serious violation of our Terms of Use.
Please refrain from posting any such pools in the future and remove all
outstanding groups to avoid receiving further warnings. To learn more
about our Terms of Use, please click on the "terms" link found at the
    bottom of any Facebook page.

(We also developed our own software allowing advertising through facebook profiles and they sure didn't like that. Can't discuss that one though ;) )

I know some of the more popular applications have advertising in them(ie iLike). I guess I will just wait and see.
