    Hi,

My website has been indexed by google for a while now.

I have optimalized my keywords and website description,

however when I search for my website on google, I get my website but the description is not showing correctly. Instead of my description, It's showing the first few sentences of my website.

    How's that possible?

    Please help.

It depends what keywords you are typing in the Google - it thinks that part of the content from your page is more relevant to that query. To be shown in the snippet description must be relevant to the query.

It is. Its nit necessary that Google always shows the description from meta description tag. If you want the description change, change that text on your body content

It's more like you content is the one that google algo thinks the closest according to your query.

What the others have said is correct - google doesn't always show your description as your snippet, but there are things you can do to help persuade it to.
One is have a description that matches the average length of a snippet (in google webmaster tools it will tell you if your description tag is too long or too short). Also if it is picking up on certain keywords in your content, it might ne worth including them in your description along with the ones you really want to highlight.
