Has anyone here tried google search to monetize their websites? If so, has it been a worthy feature to implement? If so, how much do you make from it? I'm currently testing it out because I've never tried it before.
It depends if the search part is a major feature of your site and it depends on the audience you are targeting. In my experience it does make money but you need the right audience and plenty of them. The search feature on a page is not used nearly as much as visitors clicking on ads.
It is a adsense feature but i would like to emphasize on one point here.... On a page you can keep 3 google elements so it will be better if you keep a banner ad rather than a search box... and visitors do not prefer to use a search box on any 3rd party sites....
I have added the google custom search engine to my site so visitors searching my site via custom search. With my ads on it.. It works very nice
i use the search function on my site, and i make about $15 a day through it, im now starting to add affiliate ads too, so hopefully i can earn a little more from my site.
I include Google Search on most of my sites (opening in a new window) because I figure "Why Not?" ... I make a little bit of money with it - but it's not a huge source of income.
I use the google search on most of my sites but hasn't really caught on to much. The odd little bit here and there. It totally depends on if your content and site is based around people searching and things of that nature. It should be looked at on a site by site basis I think.
One of my websites never make any money out of the search but others is showing a really good results averaging up to $14 per day, but it depends on your site traffic as well as the layout. So keep us updated with your results.
That age old answer to almost any question involving making money online. Traffic Traffic Traffic Traffic
On Spark People they actually give you "points" in their point system for doing a search with the Google Search tool. Seems a little like telling people to "click on our advertisements for a chance to win!". I would think it would go against Google's ToS, but whatever... That's a great use of it otherwise!
I tried and I see that it is almost related to your chance. you may get visitors and they may try to search, and if they search something interesting, google may show the sponsors. otherwise nothing you will earn
Earnings has been insignificant for me - on a site with 100 to 400k per month. But I implement it anyhow for my visitors' convenience and so that they can search my website.
Yes. People use google search but very few. I get around 10-20 searches per day but clicks are just 2-3 . earnings per search = $0.02 pretty bad na wtf. Few cents does not harm anyone . So use it is my advice
I make 10 times more from Search than from Adsense for Content. The eCPMs are much, much higher also.
