Google Search for Adsense and CTR - Is this legal to do?

    Hi there,
I have a Google search box for adsense on my site. I found that no one was really using it - I may get a query once in a while but no clicks. So on my site, I mentioned that "You may alternately search anything using Search box on the left". My CTR shot up to 60% is 2 hours and I got 3 clicks.

Is there something wrong with this? I am new to this whole adsense so will appreciate your help in this regard.

    Thanks in advance!!

That's a tricky one. Try applying it to the adverts... if you said 'try clicking the ads if you can't find what you want', you'd be banned, so I'd imagine the same rules would apply to the search box. If I were you I'd take it down, but I'm not 100% sure.

Thanks for your input, I took it down. I am merely suggesting, that they have an option of searching. Is that still against TOS to suggest that there is a search option available to them?

Clever technique and innovative. Send an email to Google and if you get a response, positive or negative, please post here. This how the system should work. Always share it.

Somehow I would avoid doing what you did. It's a risk not worth taking.

Thanks all for your suggestions, I took it down...Definitely don't want to risk my account getting banned for a couple of more dollars a day. I'll remain slow and steady with my site. Thanks again!

When it doubt, the best thing to do is email google to see their stance.
