HI Members of the Digital Point Forum I would like to know that google really index Flash or not if not is there any way to do that
Google announced last summer that the company had developed the technology to crawl and index Flash. Case in point: we discovered that a Flash developer had used text content from our site during the site's development. Although the Flash site was not complete, the text had been indexed - our text. Apparently, Google's spiders do have some issues with JavaScript. For more, please read: Google Conquers Flash
I have seen some where in Google webmaster blog that Google bot can crawl Flash pages. I am not sure but I think that Flash sites can be crawled but not completely. I will try to find that post in google webmaster blog and will post its link here.
Ohm. intresting to read about flash site's added to google's search database in higher page rank.? I am not sure but i read somewhere that you can add your flash site to google's search engine by using some tags... well i think i should recheck this.. but anyhow if they are able to crawl the flash site's then good progress (as flash file's are already able to be cracked and get there source code back by using reverse technology flash software's)
They can find links within flash. I have errors reported in webmaster tools originating from a swf file. so I guess they can.. EDIT: Found a way to fix the errors. Cheers James
Google does index the flash content on our site. However I still think it is best to place flash objects on a well optimised HTML page with proper keyword density and meta data
